The reflective asphalt has been left behind
Giving way to a world of soft light and cool air
My skin is sporadically warmed by sunbeam punching through the canopy of moisture and trees
I smell home now, soggy bark and evergreen
The stringent odor intensified by summer heat and mellowed with ocean air
It's a perfect dance, an accidental relationship of harmony
I pass through to enter a world where people should only breathe and observe...nothing more
Where do I fit in here?
How am I a part of this?
I floor the throttle to pass the logging truck blocking my view of the road ahead
I know where I'm going but I'm still lost near South Fork Honeydew
